Noisy neighbour solution needed

We have just moved into a semi. The neighbour is a lovely old lady. We can hear her telly at night through the bedroom wall. She is deaf and after a polite conversation she has turned it down but It still bugs me. I dont want to say anything else to her as she has turned it down and I would hate to think she daren't watch telly in case she offends us. Can anyone recommend some soundproofing boards or insulation we can put on the adjoining wall to dampen the noise? Thanks.

It may be just my my view that speakers in televisions are rubbish. Far better to have seperate speakers on speaker stands. TV's and speakers on other furniture tend to excite resonances from the furniture that travel through a building. I think headphones are a start. Those employing radio waves or an infra red link may be preferable to tripping and breaking a hip.

Actually Ian, I AM FROM SALFORD originally and proud to admit it. Borne and Bred. And not at all like the Salford folk you see on TV in silly reality Tv shows! There are some normal people living there too!
You are right about COLNE though, a lot of people here dont even have the internet yet and my kids accents are terrible! I bloody well hate the place!I am a Mortgage Adviser

Blue Peter (Janet Ellis mmmm) always said egg boxes were good for sound proofing but I doubt they are too aesthetically pleasing.
You could always simply blow a big hole in her telly? Works for me with the Pigeons round here.

Back to the OP!
Why not invite her for tea and have a work it out that way- it's good to talk!!I am a fee charging WoM Mortgage broker.I now no longer give information and opinion within the Mortgage boards, because a number of posters who, having approached me professionally, agreed my fee-which has been been made very clear at the outset, taken my advice (normally cancelling a [home visit] meeting at short notice) have then approached one of the fee-free brokers on here to arrange the very same deal I have advised.Whilst I totally concur with the ethos of "money saving"- abusing the goodwill of a professional who provides a quality service is taking it too far! :mad:0
