hi, i wonder if someone could give me help on travelling from
Edinburgh to Coventry on Fri 9 Feb
Coventry to Edinburgh on Sun 11 Feb
I would need to travel afternoon on Fri but I am flexible for travelling on the Sunday.
Best I could find was about £60. Can anyone suggest anything cheaper?A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining and wants it back the minute it begins to rain.0 -

Do you have a deadline to be in Coventry on the friday? If not, try Megatrain.com HERE 12:05 to Morpeth arr 13.22 for £1, then Morpeth-Coventry for £12 single, this means a 2 hour wait in Morpeth, dep 15:23 arr Cov 19:49 change at Brum but for £13 its cheap enough.
Return on the Sunday for £17 dep Cov 14:25 arr Edi at 21:15 no changes. Ok so not the fastest but pretty good at £30 return0 -
no, don't have a deadline to be in coventry but 2 hrs is an awful long time to wait:rotfl:
supposei could spend the time with a good book

Be aware that you might even get your Rail card cheaper from your local council offices.
Mine (South Cambs) charges £16 not £20

I will be travelling from either Bristol to York return or Wolvehampton or Birmingham to York return in jan or feb I haven't decided exactly when so will be flexible and open to advice whn is best monetarily or otherwise (likelyhood a weekend may be involved but any options considered)
I have a "disabled persons railcard" which should mean that I get 1/3 off both mine and my carers ticket. I do want to stay on the same train with as few physical changes as possible due to ease of journey.
I know that there is a stunning amount of knowledge shared by fab people like you - so write to me
hear from you soon0 -

Bristol - Cheltenham Day Single (valid on day of purchace only) £5.75
Cheltenham - Wolverhampton Open Return (valid for 1 mth) £14.40
Cheltenham - Bristol Day Single (valid on day of purchace only) £5.75
Total £25.90
These are valid at any time of the day, - however a Saver Return for the whole journey is only 5p more.0 -
Here's one for you.
Down here in the west country, the new improved service is so overcrowded that the conductors cannot get down the train to sell you a ticket.
Simply choose a station where there is no ticket office, and travel to another without ticket office.
I travel from Oldfield Park to Filton Abbey Wood every day (£6.50 return), but have only managed to buy 3 tickets since the 10 dec changes.
I estimate a saving of about £110.50
Give it a go!
