Unfortunatly it looks like the saver return @ £104 is your only option now.
If you are looking to travel often then certinally purchase the 16/25 railcard if you qualify for it , Not only does it give a third off it also removes any restrictions on time ( or 95% of them anyway )0 -
There is a smashing link for £10 fares during the October holiday week. Well worth a look.

Try Splitting at Perth and going Via Glasgow Central/Queen St
Manchester Pic to Perth Via Glasgow Advance single 25th 06:33 £26.50
Perth to Elgin Advance Single 27th 19:00** £15.80
Elgin to Perth Advance single 27th 09:55 £15.80
Perth to Manchester Pic via Glasgow Advance single 27th 15:14 £26.50
Total: £84.60
** long connection time 7hrs+ but best I could do at this short notice.
This split includes a 5-10min walk/free bus across Glasgow from Central to Queen St and you must travel on booked trains.

Lowest I have it down to is £134.20 total for 2 adults. Out am on Friday 7th and back pm Sunday 9th
Anybody get it better? Or am I better waiting for a week or 2 as I notice that there are no return saver tickets etc. on there. Do they get added nearer to the time? What is the optimum time to book?Won
