The NXEA website is a good place to start, as it will give you an online discount of 10% on NXEA advance tickets. Just had a quick look and on your dates you gave you can get advance singles for £7.10 each way

OK the best I have managed to find is £50 return each, so that is £100 for two of us. Is there anything cheaper out there? I really don't want to drive this one but at the minute it looks like it is going to work out cheaper to do so.

It's really unlikely that you will find anything cheaper than that.

Thanks for your help. I have managed to find a way of getting there and back for £32 but it includes a mixture of two trains on the way up and the train and two different buses on the way back. No wonder people aren't getting out of their cars and onto public transport, it costs to much and is far too complicated.

Seriously you can't hope for a sensible answer if you don't give your starting point. And the return date - it's not clear if it's the same day or not.
