On the NXEC home page put in the details (on the left hand side) then on the page with the grid-type thing, you're after an advanced single e/w0 -

Ok guys I am totally lost here, I want to travel from Peterborough to London (kings cross/paddington/anywhere cheaper) on August 28 and return August 30th.
I will also need a ticket to travel on the underground and buses for that weekend.
I've searched myself and all the results from the main sites are quite expensive, £50 single, returns even more and thats not adding the cost of local travel in london.
There are 2 adults going and im trying to get this weekend on a budget so any help will be greatly appreciated.
So 2 adults and I can even change the dates to 4th September till 6th September if it will save £££'s :beer:0 -
Bluey, Advance Singles haven't been released for your Sunday return yet.
Keep checking the National Express East Coast site. You should be able to get Advance Singles for around £10 per person each way when they become available.
Currently, a £10.25 Single fare is available on the Friday.0 -
Nice one buddy, i'll keep checking. Also any advice on underground/bus travel in London? Is it worth getting a travel card if i'll be using the undergroud/buses often?0

Tickets havent been released for 30th August or 4th/6th Sept yet.
Put in Peterborough to Kings Cross for the 28th and got 07:50/08:04/08:33 at £18.70 for both people one way and 09:26/09:50 for £20.50.
Journey time of just less than an hour plus £5.60 each for zone 1&2 travelcard for underground and central london buses.
So looking at just short of £30 cheapest one way.
Just keep your eye on www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com for release dates for the other dates0 -

Other people on this board might be able to help too. Tube is Russell Square, although it looks walkable.0 -
I think Groupsave might be the way to go here which can be bought on the day. I would phone East Midlands Trains on 0845 712 5678 (saynoto0870 lists an alternative number as 0115 850 7931) and ask what price for Groupsave 3 from Chesterfield to London.
Unfortunately, the EMT version of GroupSave is only available where an Off Peak Day Return fare exists, so a Chesterfield - London journey would need to be split into some 4 chunks. The trains would need to stop at the stations where one moved from one ticket to the next, and this would mean the fast trains could not be used.
youwot, have you tried returning after 1900? This should make the cheaper fares available.

Hello.
I am going to a wedding in Ipswich and i am trying to get cheap tickets.
What i need is 2 single adult tickets from Ipswich to Leagrave(1 stop after Luton) on 30th August leaving between 10 and eleven in the morning.
I tried raileasy but the price has gone from £17 to £38 for that day.
We dont have any railcards.
Thanks.0
