Paid by Paypal Seller Now Says Doesnt Take PayPal....

I recently won a CD and paid for it yesterday, along with some others, and now the seller is saying that his PayPal is out of use so my payment will probably bounce back to me.

I find this really strange and tbh, never heard of payments bouncing around unless theyre e-cheques. he said i could pay by cheque or p.o. but ive opted to cancel the transaction simply because i dont trust the seller and i like my paypal 'insurance'.

but what do i do now? he told me to let him know 'how i go on'?

do i just wait a while and do a item not recieved? im really not happy because i got quite a good deal!

Help!!!

Just pay by paypal again, and if the item doesn't arrive, open up a dispute.

By cancelling your payment, you're leaving yourself open to a non paying buyer strike!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

How did you go about opting to cancel? I just presumed you'd cancelled your paypal payment!

Sellers are obliged to accept Paypal. It's an ebay rule. Tell them tough.

You cant cancel an instant paypal payment. The seller can refund you but he wont get far on ebay using these tactics,

Just leave it then after 7 days open an item not received dispute. If the seller contacts you just say that by ebay rules they have to accept paypal which you have paid by. Its up to them then to sort there account

i wouldn't just do nothing for 7 days then open a dispute i'd keep up communication. It sounds as though his paypal account may have been limited ask him why he can't accept paypal, if you are prepared to wait a little longer for delivery while he sorts out his paypal account let him know.

If he replies that he simply can't accept paypal full stop explain that you only buy on ebay from sellers who accept paypal and would not have bid had you known and ask that he agree to cancel the sale and refund your money if payment has already been made via paypal.

The dispute process should only really need be used where communication fails, not as a substitute for communication and communicating usually leads to a much faster resolution to any problems than going through eBay and PayPal’s drawn out dispute processes.

The seller has to accept Paypal; rightly or wrongly it's ebay rules.
If they refuse to then they won't last on ebay,

On the above "rightly or wrongly", some would argue that as ebay own Paypal it is a monopolistic abuse, but I don't see anybody taking them to task about it, and actually I'm OK with the ebay/Paypal package anyway.
