I gave my number in good faith , how was I to know that they'd pin it next to my details on full view

I'm not sure what you mean by "on full view". Surely it could only be viewed by those working for Body Shop, who were fulfilling your order; and those delivering your order, on behalf of Body Shop.

Do the T&Cs state that your mobile/details will be used for these purposes ...?

Try sending them a polite email voicing this concern, a letter of complaint seems a bit strong for this matter given that it has its uses as mentioned above.

This reminds of the vent on here a few months ago.
Someone was complaining because a company had written their full name and address on a parcel and now "anyone can steal my identity".

That's the problem with companies these days they just want to make things easier for their couriers. If they did care about us they would keep a separate record of delivery addresses at a dedicated facility separate to the parcels, and then the courier would communicate to the control centre via a secure line and once the parcel had arrived the record would be destroyed. But they just don't care anymore.

It would probably be safer for everyone if disposeable robots delivered parcels, and when they'd successfully done the delivery we could destory them.

We should probably all start erecting 20ft high secure fences around our properties too.

Ask a silly question and you'll get silly answers.

Contrary to what MSE seem to think, there IS such thing as a stupid question.

Oh right. I understand now-this section of MSE is for people to vent at others because in real life they are the shy types who wouldn't say "Boo". It's sad that only a few people actually gave their opinion on what I should do next (ignore it or complain) without resorting to silly one liners and insults.
I have had time to think about this issue and have decided that name , address and phone number on a parcel is a silly policy. I doubt they'd do it if a sleb had ordered something and most other companies don't.

Anyway , thanks for (some of) the replies!

That's just what the people in Vent forum are like really. I think you have to be certain type to post in it - have a look at what happend in the 'Some people make your blood boil' topic. Of course having a question which the majority don't agree with won't help; not flaming you here just letting you know.

The MSE forums I would say are more like a city, Debt Free Wannabe is the friendly suburb where everyone knows each other, and the Vent forum is the run-down estate. ;)
