Declined 02 sim only deal
At the moment I have a T mobile sim only contract, thing is the signal isn't good and sometimes no signal at all. So applied online for 02's sim Simplicity 30 day contract. I have no late payments on my file and last week was accepted for a Next catalogue. They use the same agency Equifax, so was surprised. Are 02 difficult to get a sim/phone with?
I have 1 default from 2003 but that was at an address from almost 6 yrs gone. Looking at my Equifax report online, they haven't done a credit check on that old address. I have no financially associates either.

Credit searches search your credit file and all linked addresses. It will only register the search at the address you give on the application, but accounts from other known/linked addresses are checked.
You should contact O2. They may allow a desposit or put a call limit on the account. SIM only tariffs are low risk as the operator does not have to subsidise the cost of a phone. I read recently that O2 were taking a more relaxed approached to credit scoring, offering SIM only deals to those who had been declined for contracts and being offered a proper contract after six months.0
