ooh Ive taken allsorts to the office, if it can be microwaved or toasted all the better
Ive got a plate & set of cutlery there too, all sorted!
Beans on toast always gets some admiring sniffs ( nothing better is there) and Ive many a time taken some slow cooker casserole leftovers frozen individually in those pastic boxes from a chinese takeaway. OH took in remainders of the enchiladas we had the other day, and microwaved them, said it was gorgeous. Ive also done big veggie soups and frozen in little tupperwares, saves me having to do anything in the morning cept take it out of the fridge, grab some bread and go!
Also taken to getting packs of crumpets & taking them in 2 at a time to work for elevenses ( truth be told I eat all day at work!) which is 35p for the week! Have some staples in my drawer at work ( cup a soups, peanut butter, tea bags etc, couple of hot choc sachets) just in case I turn up with no money, i know i wont starve! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...

Sounds very nice Lynzpower! I often take in all sorts of pasta dishes, homemade curries and soups, salads, baked potatoes etc. I just wish our silly office would allow a toaster!Lightbulb Moment: 15/04/06 :j

In some ways I am very lucky because I work in a school and a) I do a lunch duty and get a £1.75 voucher each day, so I paid and get to have a school dinner. On the down side I have had quite a few upset stomachs during term time! Then b) Because I do this duty I only get 20 mins for lunch, so theres no time to go anywhere anywayThe forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

My favourites to take to work used to be 1) Cereals - with or without sugar- in a tupperware container, milk added when needed. 2) Cold Cooked pasta covered with grated cheese, then nuked in the microwave so the cheese melts Mmmmmm. 3) This is 'wicked' - Hot cross bun or fruit loaf, spread with Nutella then chop up a banana at the last minute and pile into bun. Enjoy!DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

all good advice really.. I try to limit myself also as lunchtimes can be a real expense.
I limit myself to £1 per day, whether that be on bread and such for sandwiches or actualy spending in town.
I head to homebargains for 10p drinks, if ive not made anything I'll pop to morissons and pick up a tub of sandwich filler and a couple of bread rolls if needs be.. still comes to <£1
Ive been eating a lot of tesco value cornish pasties too.. good for keeping in the fridge at work and fits within my budget..
A good way to keep up variety is to pop into the supermarket around 9:30 and pick up reduced sandwiches, ham, yoghurts, pasta pots etc.. all are fine for eating at lunchtime the next day.
These are all lazy things though.. I much prefer to leave over a bit of chicken or bolognaise for the next day.0 -

I work in a school too, and I avoid the canteen like the plague.. 60p for a shrivelled "no frills" sausage on a bit of bread.. I like the way they call a spec of cheese and a slice of tomato on a bit of stale bread a pizza too..

OK youve all inspired me, i am trying to follow a liquid diet at the moment but Im allowin gmyself one meal a day as I need 'proper' food. So instead of watching Corrie, im now off to make myself some pasta and sauce to take for my lunch tomorrow.
Im also going to leave my cards at home and just take £1 for emergencies.
Thanks OP, a fantastic thread
Hugs

Very disorganised today, and took nothing so using up what was left at work
Todays offering ( not the most nutricious) was an sainsburys own cup-a-soup and 4 slices of brown bread. A yoghurt, I forgot id left in the work fridge and (sssh) 3 bags of crisps from a multipack I bought the other day in my drawer....
And loads of free water! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
