Morning. Can you share your recipe for beef curry please?? Many thanks
Hello FlatEric, the recipe I used is on the front page of this...minced beef curry. its soooo simple and quick, mine came out really nice but as i said i think i might use 2 tins of tomatoes and possibly some other veg to bulk it out a bit next time!Pay £15k by Xmas10 £1478.19/£15000[STRIKE]24/07/09[/STRIKE] present - loan - £8550 overdraft#1 - [STRIKE]£2516.87[/STRIKE] £0 credit card - [STRIKE]£1210 [/STRIKE] £0TOTAL - [STRIKE]£12276.87[/STRIKE] £9133.63:T0 -

Does anyone know if supermarkets will take the coupons even if you don't buy the product, I know they used to but haven't tried it for a while, and I lived else where then, don't know if that makes a difference though:cool:
HWGA xx
I cant talk for all supermarkets but the policy where I work is that if it is a supplier coupon (not one with the supermarkets name on it) then you can use one only if you dont buy the product but the shop has to stock it.
Not sure if that makes sense
What I mean is if the shop stocks felix cat food (example only) and you have 2 coupons for felix but no cat at home then you can use one coupon only without buying the product. You could use the 2nd coupon the next time you shop. If the shop doesnt stock felix then you can use the coupon and if it was say a coupon from the till (some places do it with your receipt) then you cant use that either. Hope thats clearer if not let me know and I will try and make more senseEmma

Good morning everyone.
Haven`t been on here since the beginning of the month, so will try to catch up on how everyone`s doing.
Have spent £172.60 of my £300 budget so far, so not too bad for me, but will try harder if that`s possible not to spend all of my budget for this month.
I have 2 largish sausages from the butchers left from yesterday to feed 2 adults and 2 children for dinner tonight. So my plan is to slice the sausages up and make some small toad in the holes and lots of veg all homegrown(carrots, cabbage, onion, potatoes, runner beans). hopefully will satisfy the mob:D.
Anyway off to read how you`re all doing, catch you all later.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41

Well I've spent £245 of my £300 so far, looks like I'm going to be using my reserve but its my first month and I'm learning
.
We had home made pizza yesterday. The kids loved making them and I loved hearing "can we not get greasy pizza from the pizza man any more" they (the pizzas) were very tasty and filling, the kids all took sneaky peeks to watch the dough rising!
My chicken and mushroom slices were a disaster though. I rolled the pastry too thin and they all fell apart :rotfl:so I turned it into a pot pie instead. As there was much less pastry it didn't quite go round us all so kids that wanted tinned delights instead unfortuatly got them, but I know better for next time.
On saturday we are off to longleat c/o Tesco so instead of buying all our picnic bits and spending a small fortune in said supermarket I am going to be making most of it myself  wish me luck :j.0 -
Just want to update my spend for the month. Asda delivery again today, spend of £50.70 so total spend so far for the month is £187 out of my £240 budget.
I hope I can survive until the end of the month. I now have lots of puddings in the freezer and cooked a gammon yesterday for slicing for lunches. Most of it will be in the freezer by lunchtime to help to eek it out further. If it is left in the fridge my hungry hoards will just snack on it.
Good news is that DH has some work this week. He has had three weeks without any so budgeting is extremely important!business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Good morning everyone
thankyou for advice re cream and philly.
Well my new cooker is here and safely installed. I have not tried out the oven yet but hope to do some baking this weekend.
My neice came up yesterday to help me clean the tops of kitchen and bedroom units as I am a bit nervous climbing up stepladders and onto units. Now feel I can go back to work next week knowing that my house is clean and organized.:j
Dropping off lots of crockery, cutlery etc to charity shops today including my roasting pan which doesn't fit my new oven. I was ruthless when clearing cupboards, there were things in there which had never been used, so hopefully they will be of use to others.
Starting new meal plan today as I will have to be on the ball next week when I start back at work as first week back is always a bit chaotic and I am sorry to say this tends to have a knock on effect at home.
Haven't bought anything this last couple of days but will have to buy milk today.
Was given a gift of red and yellow tomatoes. Have eaten all the red ones but have never had yellow ones before. Do you use just as you would the red? Can you cook with them or are they better raw?Any advice would be appreciated.
Hope you all have a good day.It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!0 -
Has anyone tried using the coupons from the week-end's papers yet? I went to a fairly largish MrT yesterday & had to fight to get my pound off! It was the one that mentions "includes deli & hot deli counters" & the lady on customer services said it was because I hadn't bought anything from them
that it didn't come off at the till. In my little house-wifey brain 'includes' ='as well' where to large corporations it must mean something totally different.
Anyhoo. Sixty three pounds & some coppers netted me several presents & a fair bit towards the :xmastree:stash along with the usuals, so perhaps not as bad as it seems. Ooooh! and 500g bag of sesame seeds for 85p :j:D Thanks for your help on that by the way, but I'd looked on the shelves at all the places I'd mentioned & there wasn't even a price label for them  I was beginning to think the burger chains had snaffled 'em all for their buns :rotfl:

It will last for months so a good spend there. Not much left really to spend this month, i`m hoping that the low carb food that i have in will last until the end of the week so that i don`t need to go shopping again.
