The local butcher come village van shop came around today. Not cheap, but only instant access to food without doing an Asda delivery.
2 Lemons, 3 pieces of neck of lamb, 2 pork chops, some streaky bacon. £7.85!!! But it would have cost me £5 in petrol to go to the shops and I would have spent even more, as I would have been tempted. (But until the car is back on the road I am not able to). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hello all! I'm jumping back in for £200 for two adults and one toddler.
I paid the milkman and did a Tesco order last week, but I'm counting from Saturday so we've only spent £3.
That means I need to keep the spend really low so there'll be enough 'budget' left for the big spends when benefits come in at the end of the month.A penny saved is a penny earned.

Shopping budget for this week for nine people is a grand total of £140.00 - spend so far £86.99 (including ice skating and car park £12.00) should just about manage it!!!!!!!!!!! Any ideas on cheap healthy meals - enough to feed nine?????????????:jApril 2011 Grocery Challenge £116.57/£600.00:jone NSD:rotfl:0

Disaster has struck! My Cookworks bread maker bought from Argos for £22-99 about 18mths ago has finally given up working. The paddle became stuck in the pan about 3 or 4 months ago but it still worked till today. The pan comes out but the bread isn't even at the dough stage. Does anyone know where I can get spares as the instruction book just refers you to Argos and the guarrantee has run out!
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Had my Sainsbury's delivery today- mostly household stuff. Off to update my signature.

hi moniker, try typing in the make and model of your bread maker into google, maybe it will come up with some usefull info? I know my partner ordered a spare paddle for a friend's breadmaker off the internet although i can' remember the make or where he ordered it from (sorry if this is not much help):jApril 2011 Grocery Challenge £116.57/£600.00:jone NSD:rotfl:0
