I need to get anti virus for my computer - I just use it for internet use and am upgrading to broadband - Have found a deal for Norton internet security for £24.99 at PC world and have found a deal for mcafee internet security with argos for £24.99 - which one should i go for and are these teh cheapest prices?

avast or avg are the cheapest.., they are free.. prefer mcafee to norton myself..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

AVG free edition, backed up with Spybot Search & Destroy and Lavasoft Ad-Aware (both also free) should be OK. Also, suggest switching to Firefox as your browser.
And buy a router to install between your PC and the broadband service (cable or ADSL MODEM). The router should have a firewall and provide Network Address Translation (NAT), so your PC isn't directly exposed to the Internet badness.0 -
hmm sounds complicated though - just want something easy to install and run0

I think you should go for the free ones rather than pay for virus protection.
I used to have Norton on my PC when I first got it but as soon as the subscription ran out I opted for the free virus protection that is available. I've tried AVG and Avast and I personally prefer Avast.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

I found the free version of Avast, flagged up supposed infected files on my laptop that no other AV program ever found. This was before I'd even hooked it up to my network. Imho AVG is far better:j The £2 CSC = £48 in carton£100 banked Mar 06V-Free : 4 weeks0

I like avast. Have tried AVG and NOD32, plus norton and mcafee, have always ended up going back to avast.Sigless0
