As I said in a previous post this is a recipe that I got out of the Jackie Magazine and have been making for the last 40+ years:eek: It is gorgeous eaten straight away but IF you can wait 24hrs it gets all fudgey in the middle. It will keep for 2-3 weeks if kept in an airtight container, but I have to own up, it never last longer than 3-4 days in my house!:p ...

Thanks kingshir! :T I've added this to the recipe list on the front page of the grocery challenge thread ;)
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

If you freeze them first, it's even easier ;)

    Penny. x

Excellent! I've just been given some toms from my in-laws garden. Too many to eat raw, but not really enough for a decent amount of sauce, so I'll bung them in the freezer until my in-laws give me some more! :D
  • Hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do:D x[/QUOTE]

Big,big THANK YOU for the brownie recipe - I am very much of the Jackie era :-)

Is it level or heaped tablespoons of cocoa powder please?

  • Hahah - I just googled 'Economy Gastronomy tomato bedrock recipe' to see if I can find it (we are obsessed by tomatoes in our house, so its always nice to see a different recipe for them!) and the first hit on google was my comment on this threads about the lads making it! :rotfl:

I sympathise. They look cool but we don't get a lot of light in here. Have to have the lights turned on in the day and the corner where the pc is is pretty dark...
I´ve got one of those USB LED flexible computer lights, it really makes a difference. It was only 1.69 with free postage

How did others find the rice part of it?
Well I didn't have chilli flakes, so used powder. Mine was [STRIKE]blow the mouth off you hot[/STRIKE] anything but tasteless :rotfl::D

I do agree there was loads though - did us two dinners and a lunch each too!

i halved the rice recipe and it was plenty for 3 people. I left out the mushrooms (hubby doesn't like them) and probably added a little more spice and it went down well with my lot, hubby said it was alot lighter than the rice we usually have.
