    Re the Weight Watchers one.

They text me and said I did not have one in my area.
Funny, as when i looked on the website, there were plenty in the area!!!!!

A CON I reckon. To get you on a mailing list and sell your phone numbers on!!!! NOT IMPRESSED

does any one know if this offer covers the old trick of charging extra for a restyle ??

it says cut but most salons round here charge more for a restyle which means anything other than what youve already got

I had a complete restyle. I had long hair and had it all cut off and didn't have to pay a penny! I had my hair done by the asst manager at Hair Cuttery aswell! I was really impressed with it and didn't have any problems with the offer. I sent my coupon registered post so that they couldn't say they hadn't received it. HTH :j

Hi, sorry if this has been posted before  but I've found the virtues of having a dry cut i.e not bothering with the wash and bow dry much cheaper than the £25+ us gals usually pay out for  . A local hairdresser does it for £12, I suffer no split ends and it saves time to do more money saving :rotfl:

I am a salon owner and used to be part of the 'Hair Group' promotion offering free cuts and services to new clients.
It can take some time to process the vouchers and send the lists out to the salon in the areas requested(something I used to complain about to them,as it made my salon look disorganised when we were sent 'leads' that were already 6 months old and people had forgotten about filling in the coupon by then!)
Please make sure that you hair will be cut/coloured by a trained/experienced stylist at the time of booking,as I think that some salon owners use it as a way to build up a client base for trainee's or junior stylist.
A good way of getting a good haircut for free/cheap is to either keep an eye out for 'Models Required' notices in salon windows.I am always encouraging people to be training models for my assistants-the cut may take a little longer than normal, but the assistant will have 1 to 1 training with an experienced stylist whilst cutting your hair and you will get a great job done.Expect to pay for the products that are used if you apply to be a colour model though. This extends to top name salon's too-especially if they have their own Academy-the only drawback being, that they can sometimes get a bit carried away. This is great if you want an artistic, funky new look but not if you just want a maintenance trim!

Can anyone help me with the address to send the Sainsbury's Hair Group coupon to as I have my voucher but my OH has recycled the mag.

    Cheers

Yeh, but if you go to your local college set aside a large chunk of your day as the students can be VERY SLOW. My husband works at a college and he tried this idea once. Just ONCE........

He has what one barber called "very STRONG hair" :D

This made me laugh, my husband works at a college and he booked me and the kids in - we were there ALL AFTERNOON! The kids loved it though as the girls cutting their hair made a real fuss of them and they were very good haircuts and very cheap

I sent off for the same thing with the 'Hair Group' and despite there being salon's in my area, I have never heard anything from them.

Good things come to those who wait......... but the best will be taken by those who got there first ;)

Good points from all, esp Fabianne and Joyful25.

I've always begrudged women having to pay so much more than men, and looked at ways around it. I used to cut my own hair when it was long.

Since then I've been to our local college a few times, with mixed results. It's generally slow, sometimes hours, but cuts are ok to good, it's cheap, & I had excellent cuts by tutors when students were off.

Recently I've gone regularly to the same person for a wet cut. She's friendly, quick, knows what I want, does a great cut, she dries it like I do (not faffing around) and it costs £18.50.

That's why I'm so narked about 'saving' with the Hair Group offer ... :o

I've also had v expensive cuts in the past which weren't that good.

Everyone's different, I suppose you find what suits you then stick to it.

    You could try a barbers.
I pay £12.95 at mine and I have long hair.

Ladies hair often takes longer to do so on that basis I think there is a justification for charging more (I sat in the barbers a while waiting and most of the men had very simple cuts that took 5 minutes).

But I think many of the prices at ladies salons are too high and we are taken advantage of.
  • My wife applied from the PRIMA Magazine. Heard nothing so phoned the hair group on 0844 88 44 000. They said they would repost details to the salon and that she should hear from the salon in the next few weeks.

    We shall see!
