Go to ebay.com & above your DSR table there is a link to see what discount you will qualify for under the upcoming new rules & how affected you are by 1's & 2's.

Platinum discount is dropping from 35% to 30%? Is that right?

    Edit: actually to 25%

Reading the PS board this is absolute cack.

Even if we're as good as we can be we'll go from 35% to 25%.

But in reality we'll probably only get 10% discount thanks to their impossible criteria.

We pay ebay £4k+/month across all our accounts, this will hurt.
  • Also, as there will no longer be the need to be registered as a business HMCR will dip out as I'm going straight back to private seller!

Own website (which I've been putting off) here I come!

Won't HMRC take an interest when you de-register as self-employed?

As I also work and ebay is a hobby, no. Especially as I only registered as a business within the last 12 months and have yet to file a return.

I pity the smaller volume sellers - it seems it only takes 2 dings on the stars and that is the discount lost for a year.

I bet eBay are looking forward to more postal strikes - it could exonerate them from issuing any discounts!

The fees may not be increasing, but it's pretty certain the revenue raised will be a lot higher.
