Braodband but no BT line or cable coverage!

Help

I have moved to a remote-ish house, and am only planning to be here for about 6 months. BT want £122 to re-connect the phone line, which I am reluctant to pay as I am renting for a short time.
I have checked, and do not seem to be in a cable area. My 3 mobile dongle has zero reception!!!
do I have any chance of getting t'internet via other methods??
Many thanks in advance

    No.

Possible work around but your still probaly need to pay connection charge.

Get your line rental from Post Office Homephone who dont have a minimum term so no big cancellation fees.

Then you can get broadband on a monthly contract from a supplier like http://www.newnet.co.uk/broadband/index.php

    Hi emsywoo123,

I just wanted to say that if you get BT to connect your line you will enter a 12 or 18 month contract, so bear that in mind if you decide to connect with us, because if you then need to cancel your contract after 5 -6 months you will be charged.

Mind you, you can transfer your service to your new address as well so you will just incur cancellation fees, but just be mindful of what contract you are signing up to when applying for a new landline service (be it BT or another provider).

    Thanks,

    Stephanie

Possibly a different mobile network provider, 3 doesn't give a usable signal in many area's.

Thank you for that, I did not know there would be a cancellation fee.

Great idea, I know that O2 phones work well here, maybe an O2 phone with internet on?

As above for the different mobile networks. Generally if you can get mates round with 3G phones on the different networks, you can find out which ones will work best. All of the networks have a coverage checker you can use before buying, but they aren't 100% accurate. TalkTalk have started connecting lines for £60, but you'll be stuck with a long contract to stick as you would with BT

Only if they can be bothered and only if you take broadband.
