Not sure if we need any more? Only going to be claiming for the current PPI - or do you think it worth claiming for all PPI for the previous loans given this was a top-up?

    Hi AuntyJean.;)
Unfortunatey my computer is still not allowing me to open photobucket links, must try to get it sorted out.

I would personally go for the previous ones as well, if you request the SAR as suggested above, then you should receive all the information in relation to your loans etc, it is up to you, but if you want to go for the previous ones as well, you just write the account numbers on the same letter.;)

    Thanks for everyone's help.

We sent off the first letter and received a response within the four week time period given saying they were still looking into the matter. Two days later we received another letter with a cheque for refund of the PPI (except for one small additional portion) on one loan with interest but less a cancellation charge which was more than the interest!

We wrote back saying that we did not accept the cancellation charge as the policy should never have been taken out in the first place and that it was not cancelled mid term but ab initio. We also asked them to address the PPI on the current loan which they had completely ignored, despite quoting all the policy numbers.

That letter was sent on 30th December but we have not yet received a reply. The first letter was sent 31st October 2009.

My concern is that there may be timescales which we may miss for involving the ombudsman. Is anyone able to advise please? What should we do next and when should this be done by?

Thanks to everyone. OH received his cheque for the full amount paid plus interest. Took 18 months but well worth the wait.

    Thank you FSA.
