Phones 4 U - Cracking Deal
On Saturday I got the best phone deal ever - in my opinion!!!
New Nokia N70 phone on 3 Talk & Text 1100 tariff - 18 month contract - 600 mins x/network anytime & 400 texts - £45
- New phone
- Case
- First 6 months 1/2 price @ £22.50 + double minutes & double texts
- Next 6 months 1/2 price @ £22.50 via cheque back scheme, which the shop will do for me if I take my vouchers & bills in on the dates they have given me.
- Final 6 months full price (but can change tariff down to something cheaper)
I take insurance as i have a puppy who eats mobiles for a hobby & use the phone for my business - reduced the cost of that from £27.50 a quarter to £24 a quarter (not much but can reduce further once up and running)
Then it got interesting - I have two phone lines (one business & one private) and was offered Homecall service (cancellable at any time) - line rental cheaper than BT, calls cheaper than BT and if they don't save you money you get free calls for a year.
Wasn't interested initially as I don't use my landlines much - then the guy asked me if I was interested if he gave me £50 cash!!! Unsurprisingly I accepted his offer and walked out of the store with a nice crisp £50 note in my purse as well as everything else mentioned in this post.
Not a bad afternoons work!!!!

I take if you didnt see them on Watchdog a week or two ago? Good luck if you ever try to leave them.0 -
Surely all Wattsy has to do if they want to leave is follow Homecall's procedure, also put it in writing (sent recorded) and cancel the Direct Debit after the last bill?0

I think I saw that - if it was the one I saw, it would be one of the few things I wouldn't do for £50.deutzkiwi wrote:I take if you didnt see them on Watchdog a week or two ago? I did see the Watchdog item and reckoned that they had received such bad press they would have to sort it out.................. time will tell.
I will enjoy (spending or saving haven;t decided yet) my £50 - and if all else fails can use it to take them to court!!!!! :rotfl:0 -
wattsy1uk ..
as always there are better deals to be had via internet
www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is a brilliant site to look at "pay monthly" .. then choose the tariff you're after and it lists all the deals available.
on the "3" takl & text 1100 .. there are better deals to be had on your tariff and your phone choice ... even considering the £50 cash ... which at the end of the day they've secured your landline business potentially for years!!
and there is better/cheaper landline deals to be had .
if you also look at the 12 month version of that tariff ... you can get it for totally free and a cheap handset ... versus the £500+ you've committed to.0 -
didn't realise you can't put a website on !! but it is a sort of ... !0

it's blocked as it's a "white Label" reseller affiliate site

Checked out some of the internet sites..... but having read some of the posts here about the problems of actually getting the money/chequebacks I decided that I couldn't be bothered with the faff..........much prefer walking into a shop with a contract and refusing to leave until the situation is resolved - if that ever becomes necessary!!!!
As far as securing my landline business is concerned I only ever really pay the line rental on the business line and a couple of quid on my private line - so I am still saving money by reduced line rental and call charges.0 -
hear what you say but,...
shops probably won't be there as mr cauldwell has it all up for sale.
might well be bought by carphonewarehouse who own nearly everything else anyway !!.
I have 4 big mobile contracts via them ... and with cashbacks that are as straightforward as sending a bill in the post ...don't even have to go to a shop... i pay absolutely £0 a year.0 -
browntoa .. sorry if i've done wrong .. understand what you say about affiliates etc.
shame that continually muddies the waters ... i think i got that website name from mse ..,.as i did loads of other good websites that now contribute to the £massive savings i make every year by getting such good deals.
that particular mobile site is unbelievably clever and slick in simply showing all the deals either by phone or by tariff etc. Saved me literally £thousands.0
