I don't think it will but would like confirmation if posible. I'm pretty sure that they are owned ny the same company.

It doesn't matter who owns it; they are still separate networks, so it would work if the phone was unlocked. But roaming charges would apply, so hardly worthwhile.

if you're planning on going to Italy and want to buy a sim card to use over there then have your phone unlocked before you go and you'll be ok.

only if the 3 italy sim card is used in the uk.

if the 3 uk phone is used in italy then there are no roaming charges.

echo your comment that the phone would have to be unlcoked to accept the italian 3 sim.

ok - I was mixing up where the OP was likely to use it, but yes my mistake - Italy seems much more likely, so no roaming charges there.

With an unlocked phone, you can choose any Italian network

I'd go for Wind, unless you like 3's divisive credit for incoming calls

Unfortunately my Nokia 6280 is new generation of fans, which doesn't seem to be able to be unlocked. I guess I'd have to use my old Samsung and D500 and get a local sim.

3 will unlock the phone if you are the original owner.

Cost is around £200 in contract, and £15 out of contract. Speak to 3 customer service.

There is currently no way to unlock BB5 nokia's (6630, 6680, N70, 6280) for free.
