I'm looking to get one of these secondhand....purely because I need something with gps on and I know if I use this phone with the 3 network then Skype tp Skype is an option...I also want to use the net a fair bit.
Will I need anything else/to pay for anything else to enable this to be a gps phone, apart from the obvious cradle and car charger??
Can the E71 be used in conjunction with Nav4all (it is on their list), but what exeriences have folk with this please???
TIA

It's a very good phone and I like it, if you want to use the built in Nokia Maps then you will have to pay if you want directions etc. but if you want to use a third party GPS app this should work just fine, although never used "nav4all" myself.0

E71 is an Excellent phone. Sold my when I got an I Phone and whilst I love my I Phone, there are times I miss the E71.LBM : March 2008

i have this phone at the moment, in fact am writing on it right now - i like this phone, but the reason why i wanted a new phone, was so i can access apps, esp. For news and reference apps. Those that are available on the iphone and apps from big names, such as wall street journal, USA Today and others are not available with the nokia. The ovi store is in no way comparable to app store.0

I've had my E71 from Three for a few months now on the £20 a month for 200 mins plan.
I've only used the Skype once for a call to Australia. There was quite a delay on the line which made talking a little awkward.
Also calls to voicemail come out of my 200minute call allowance, I had expected these to be free as I would consider them to be "Three to Three" calls.
Otherwise all good.0 -
I'm looking at buying the E71 rather than a Blackberry.
But hold off buying for a while... the E71's successor - the E72 - is being released soon (if it hasn't already), so the price of the E71 should start dropping.
If you aren't that interested in GPS/Maps, the E63 is also a great phone and much cheaper.0 -

I was told specifically by the indian call centre that i will be charged 10pence per minute for VM and that it DOESNT come out of free minutes. Im on exact same plan and same phone as you. Im lied to...AGAIN!0 -
I use my E71 with Garmin XT satnav software.. its very good. If you're on an unlimited data tarrif, you can leave it connected to 3g and it'll keep up to date with traffic info.
If you download Nimbuzz, you can chat via skype/facebook/MSN/yahoo chat - and use Skype calls if you're connected to wifi (might work on 3g if you're with 3)0
