Your contract is with WH Smith.As long as you can prove when and where you purchsed it,you don't necessarily need the receipt.Give it a try.

I had similar problem with faulty ds with Game - couldnt find receipt but they accepted looking at credit card statement where I made transaction as it showed Game on statement - if that is any help.,

Try running a toothbrush all the way around the edge of the screen quite rough to remove all debris and loosen edge sounds weird but works.
