Panasonic TV: how do I get rid of on screen AV1/EC1/RGB display?

Have a Panasonic LCD TV, bought in Jan sales. Yesterday it started displaying either AV1/RGB or EC1/RGB on the screen constantly. I can only get rid of it by switching to Freeview, but it's constantly there with channels routed through the Skybox (ordinary Skybox).
It's very annoying. I googled it and found it seems to be common to Panasonics but I couldn't find any info on how to remove it.
I have monster scart cables plugged into AV1 and AV4 btw and all has worked fine until yesterday. The scart cables are not loose.
I have a Sky remote and a Panasonic remote and live in a flat with a communal aerial set up with the feed coming through a wall socket (Freeview and Sky)
If anyone can help please, please keep the instructions very simple as otherwise I won't follow them
thanks a lot

There will probably be a button on the remote control to get rid of it. sometimes it's labelled "i"0

No, tried that and it doesn't work.
I've tried all the buttons on the remote. I got the RGB bit to disappear but then couldn't change channels, so undid that.0 -
On my Panasonic CRT the key I use looks like the outline of a TV screen with a little plus inside it.Dave. :wave:0

You could always try pressing random buttons! You can't break the tv so it's worth a try, it's probably the same button which has been accidently pressed which has caused it.Waddle you do eh?0

hello
See if this works:
Press the "TV" button on the top left of your sky remote
Then press the "i" button on your sky remote
Finally press the "Sky" button on your sky remote.
Hope it helps0 -

Model no is TX 32LXD52. Sorry, have been away so only picking up the suggestions now, but thanks to all.
Have tried everything but the only thing that removes it is even more annoying which is to activate the subtitles!
Pushing random buttons got the RGB to disappear and just the EC1 displayed but then you can't change channel
It's only a problem on the Sky channels. Freeview is ok. Do you think I should spend hours on 0870 trying to get some techie at Sky?
Or will have to try Comet again as last time they said weird, no idea what's wrong and bring it in but it has to be a simple setting hopefully. I don't want to return it for a repair and have no TV for ages0 -

Does your remote have an AV button? This would be the source select for any SCART/S-VHS/Composite video inputs.
Check your user guide to see how to manually select between different SCARTs and that button should remove the source indicator too.0 -
Yes the TV remote does but it doesn't affect the problem as it's only with Sky
I've read the manual from cover to cover and there's nothing. I am going to try Panasonic's website for customer support as Comet are doing a Manuel, but I will ask them again a specific question on how to manually select between different SCARTs.
I've been looking for an input select as the problem started after we watched a DVD through the DVD player.
I've tried turning the DVD player on and off again too but it didn't correct itself.
thanks for the tip about what question to ask0 -

This is from the 32LX52F manual:
While viewing a TV channel Press the TV/AV button.
Whilst the on screen selector keys are displayed, select the page by
pressing the Red or Blue button and then press coloured buttons to
select the AV source you wish to view.
Red button : AV1 Scart terminal / Back page
Green button : AV2 Video, S-Video Scart terminal /
AV4 Video, S-Video Scart terminal
Yellow button : AV3 Audio, Video, S-Video terminals /
Component, HDMI terminals
Blue button : Next page / -
The on screen selector keys will disappear after a few seconds. If you
want to select an input when the keys are not shown, press any one
of the coloured buttons and the keys will reappear.0
