Listing a Burberry Item, how do i know if its a fake?

I have a Burberry childs dress, i bought it second hand so i have no idea if its a fake or not, it has a Burberry black label in it but no wash instructions, it feels like a quality item and has the Burberry badge sewn on the front. I'm worried about listing it incase its a fake.
How do i tell?

Fair point, but if you cant be sure its genuine is it worth the risk? Aside from the auction being pulled you could then find yourself in the position of a chargeback.
I'm guessing the only way of authenticating it is to take it into a burberry store, and even then they may not give you anything written to authenticate it.0 -
If it hasn't got washing instructions I'd say it was a fake.
Is it really worth risking your reputation as a seller on eBay if you're not sure? I always car boot "designer" stuff I've found at jumble sales.0 -
Not worth the risk. Didnt you have something else pulled the other day over VERO I could be imagining this I know someone did)
If you did they will be keeping tabs on your products so not worth the risk? Even if you didnt I really dont think its worth the risk.0 -

Not me, i have never had anything pulled from e-bay, i have 2000 feedback at 100% so it would be a little risky.
I have found a dress the same on completed listings (same design, same black label but new with tags), looks the same as mine.
Maybe i should stick it on my husbands e-bay

Remember that if your OH is banned from ebay, then all accounts at that household will also be pulled. As above - if in doubt, leave it out. It may well be worth money, but more than likely it'll be more hassle than it's worth.
Besides - think of the target buyer that you may have to encounter when selling it...
Safe, innit, sorted,.brap-brap etc.
Do you really want to have to interact with them?!:rotfl:<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

the target market dont care as long as its cheap if it looks burberry they tell everyone it is, just sell it, dont list it as genuine, but if asked say you can not confirm as it was used when you bought itEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -

What a great idea to get away with selling them without putting the account at risk....
Wonder why nobody else has ever thought of that?<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
