It seems to be more about ebay and moneymaking.
Probably a lot of "kids" whose pocketmoney would have gone far on this deal who have missed out to adults buying them simply to sell on ebay.
There is a distinct lack of Carin n Sharin on MSE....0 -
Here's some of the Gamestation trade prices as of today. I chose to trade in some of my games for credit which I will use for an Xbox360 when it's released.
For the guy who was on his high horse about this it is money saving. I was going to get an Xbox360 anyway and this way I now have £68 worth of credit to use towards it for an outlay of £7.99. Seems like money saving to me!
Anyway, here's the trade in value for games I had in alphabetical order. Note that these are the values given for credit and may be higher than if you trade for cash.
Backyard Wrestling £3
Blinx £6
England International Football £4
Genma Onimusha £3
Hobbit £6
Midway Arcade Treasures £3
Mission Impossible: Operation Surma £4
Return to Castle Wolfenstein £4
Rainbow Six 3 £2
Starsky & Hutch £3
The Great Escape £3
Voodoo Vince £6
Yager £3MFW 2015 #41 = £20,515/£20,515

Do you know if all blockbusters have gamestation inside? I went with a few games to our local and there was no mention of game station so I got the impression that the prices I was given were less than would be offered by gamestation.0

Most up here seem to. It was a Gamestation within Blockbuster that I went to. You would definitely know as there's Gamestation plastered all over the front of the store and inside in the games section. Effectively a shop within a shop.
There is still some standalone Blockbusters and I do believe they accept games in trade.MFW 2015 #41 = £20,515/£20,515

At the risk of stirring it up a bit I see that once again some MSErs aren't happy that some other MSErs take advantage of special offers for themselves and don't leave them for other people.
As I have said on these boards before we don't live in a Communist society where we all get one of everything and no-one has more opportunity than anyone else. This board is titled "Grab it while you can" for a very good reason! I don't see why I shouldn't take advantage of offers which are out there, and just leave them for others to come along later and have "their fair share". Like many MSErs I spend a lot of time looking for bargains instead of sitting in front of the telly - that time is rewarded when I do find something worth having. And like many MSErs when I do find bargains I like to tell other people about them so they can get a share too.
Yes I do occasionally buy items expressly to sell on Ebay. Other times I trade up (usually with PCs) and sell my old kit on Ebay. If I make a profit on this it helps to offset the cost of other things I buy, so it really is "money saving". If Boots are stupid enough to sell Ipods at a ridiculous price then I am willing to take advantage of that - result: my daughter gets an Ipod for Xmas costing me about £70 and 2 other people get Ipods for £20 less than the shop price - happiness all round.
The attitude of "leave something for everybody" wouldn't go down too well with those people who sit in queues for days to get the best bargains in the January sales - try telling them that they should have equal access to offers as those people who turn up at 11am on Sale Day and complain that all the best bargains have been taken!
That's my rant for today out of the way! Just got to wait for the Dell new prices to come out tomorrow night now!You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
