It was probably worth a try when it was on dvdforums. But it has been on MSE going on three weeks now. If you look at Ebay you will see it is flooded.
I've tried a few stores and made a few trips. Picked up a few X Box titles, although not the exciting ones. Wherever I have looked it has been mainly Bad Boys 2, Starsky & Hutch, Midway Classics and Rainbow 6 for XBox left. Does not appear to be any PS2 or GBA left.
9 out of 10 staff members told me a version of the same thing. "Oh yeah, we (the staff) bought them all". "The guy who looks after that section bought them all and traded them", "The area manager bought them". One kid told me that they see all the prices a week before the markdowns. The other 1 out of 10 have looked blankly and said that they don't know anything about it, apart from the fact that they work all day in a shop with an instore radio station that mentioned it every day for several weeks !0 -
Still loads of games out there that are cheap, in most of the stores the staff don't even know HOW to run the reports to find the cheap stock.
I have been to loads of DSG stores, and as recently as Friday had a result, only been to ONE store where I got nothing. Having the full list appear recently makes it much easier for us now.
Seriously, don't bother asking the staff, look for yourself and get them to search on the system for you. Call CS for anything you particularly want and you'll see how many stores have still got stock.0 -
i know there probably isnt many games left but for those who bought a few and dont know what to do blockbuster will gve you a half decent trade price they gave me £6 for bad boys 2 and £5 for midway arcade... i got excited and bought these games then got home and realised they werent that good gave a couple away and traded another few. dont bother going to game, gamestation etc.Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk

I was really hoping that Game might do the offer of exchange four games and pay £1.00 and get any chart CD. I am not too sure if they will though cos I think that they might have lost quite a bit when they did it before? Not too sure really, i'm not in a hurry to get rid of the games so I think I will hold out and see wht comes along.0

I checked our local stores a couple of weeks ago on this offer and there was nothing even remotely close to 47p.
I asked a shop assistant about it who looked at me like I was from another planet.0 -
You might want to try, it could be worth it. I have spent a long time searching my local stores and did have quite a bit of luck. I printed off the lists for Xbox, PS2 and GBA and just stood there are searched though the shelves. Give it a try if you have time, most staff in my area had no idea about the reductions at all. Only one store had the games actually priced up as 50p and then they scanned as 47p, they too had missed a few which I managed to pick up. Good luck and happy hunting!!!0

Just wanted to let people know that whilst you should avoid Game, unless they have that geat 4 game trade in deal again. Do not avoid Gamestation! Blockbuster, at least in teh entire south anyway, actually have Gamestation outlets inside them, and that is where you are trading in. The prices quoted, are the same in the high street Gamestation.
I know as that is where a lot of my games have gone, and for trading in around 40 games so far I have well over £150 of credit! So think about it.....it's the best way to go.
As for how poor Game have gotten lately, here's an example. I took 13 gaems into Game mix of xbox and ps2. Game offered me £26 trade, adn £16 cash. Went with same games down the road to gamestation and was offered £30 for cash, and £50 for trade. Now thats what I call value for money. £6.50 worth of games bought in dixons traded for £50 credit note!
I also sold a bunch via my local Friday Ad paper at £10 a pop! Ignore ebay for now, it is a bit swamped but it will settle down again......either that are speak to freinds, family or get a bit active with what you do with em once you got em.
As for the question someone else raised about stock levels, yes they are getting lower, but only yesterday (friday) i managed to pick up another 10 games!
On another positive note, there have been some new price drops, and there is now a selection of games at 97p! Sonic Advance 3 on GBA anyone for a quid, bargain.
