MONEY MORAL DILEMMA. Should a desperate housewife condone a cheating boss?

She doesn't have to condone him but she doesn't have to expose him either. Neither does she have to accept the pay off. Declining the bribe will indicate moral disapproval and establish high ground. The boss will feel scummy, which is fine really.
I completely agree with Pompidou here - don't take the money, but decide independently whether you should tell the boss' wife or not. Perhaps try to persuade the boss to tell his wife himself?0 -
take the money and keep your nose out of other peoples affairs, you would not be thanked for being the informer.0

I wouldn't get involved full stop!! I would only grass is if someone was cheating on one of my brothers or sisters. Apart from that not interested.
Anyway if I was interested in taking the money I wouldn't want him paying it to my husband as a bonus, I would want it in my hand CASH!!!0 -
Whoa - stay WELL clear of this one!
It's none of Gabby's business, and she certainly shouldn't drag Carlos into the sordid mire as well. To accept the money would make her look as bad as the boss. If I were Gabby, I'd tell the seedy boss to dump the slapper and spend that £100 on something nice for his wife.
Probably would keep an eye out for any future discriminatory behaviour from the boss towards the hapless Carlos as well...0 -
Gabrielle should say something---IF she is good friends with the wife. If not, she should just keep well out.
She should say something because:
1. As a friend to the wife, its a moral duty- I would expect the same for my friends and I'd bet she would expect the same from hers.
2. Its going to look REALLY bad when it all breaks out into the open and she is shown to be so money orientated that it defines her moral standing- thats another way of saying she would look very greedy for taking the money and being paid to keep stchm.
3. How could you sleep at night if you did this- would you then not be worried that when the problem becomes too big to hide, the money would go too?- money pays for alot, but your mental health is worth more then money can pay for- you only live your life once. Don't ruin it by adding in unnecessary stress!
4. He home is big enough that she could easily move out, find herself something smaller and still live quite happily ever after- added to that, Carlos has just found this new job and I'm quite sure the money problems will soon fade to grey. (I watch desperate Housewives).0 -
This is outright blackmail. Oldest business in the world (except one)
You must get your boss to contract you to permanent member of the board of directors company car executive office company jet travel and an exponential increase in salary. Get him to pay off your mortgage guarantee your pension and early retirement with exceptional director fees. Just to start.
Have fun with the extra cash you can second yourself to businesses and their bosses and when you have found enough to slake your ever increasing appetite call all the unsuspecting wives and do them the best deal you can muster.
Signed a friend.
THATS WHAT I CALL REAL JUSTICE!0 -
Never take the money. it's immoral and possibly even legally blackmail.
As for telling the wife, really depends how good friends they are.
But in my experience, the messenger is often shot in that kind of things, so unless she REALLY cares about the wife, above their own friendship.. don't bother, he'll get find out eventually.0 -
As in that episode, Gabby should kill Carlos' boss making it look like an intruder killed him then Carlos would be promoted and the boss would be out of his wife's like 4ever - win, win!!0
-
She should sleep with the boss too and threaten to tell his wife and get £200 per month out of him.
Great idea! This is the best suggestion yet for a money-saving (-making) website. But there is a slight risk that it may backfire, and very scrupulous people might consider it a teensy bit amoral.
Otherwise, she should not take the money, but should enjoy gossiping about the situation with her husband (assuming they have a similar moral outlook) and otherwise mind her own business.0 -
So why did she confront him in the first place?
I mean, what did she expect to achieve by it? That he would be full of remorse and ditch the other woman? Not exactly a likely scenario. More likely he would now resent her, be very cagey in future and do his best to send her and her husband on out of town jobs.
I think she should have told no one what she saw, except her husband - and they could then decide whether to do anyting TOGETHER. After all, it is his boss and his livlihood here, and he is her husband.
Still, having already done the confronting alone, she should now tell her husband all that has happened and again, decide together where it should go from there.
Hopefully they will chose to say nothing more to anyone - and to reject the bribe.0
