Get over it and fin-
No, it also seems to me they are going a bit over the top. Do they really take down your address whenever they sell you age-restricted products? What possible reason could they need that for?
That said, they don't have to sell anything to anyone. I'd just flash my ID and chuckle to myself about the silliness of their rules. But taking that much information from you for a bag of charcoal is a bit off...I'd refuse.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
i would very surprised if they were allowed to just down your name, address and dob as it would be a breach of data protection, details like that could be used for anything if got into the wrong hands,Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

TBH I think the whole age check thing is going way over the top now. I called in our local shop for some cigarettes last week and the lady behind the till asked for ID. I'm nearly 36 LMAO. She warned me I needed to get ID as the age check scheme was rising to 25 and I would probably get caught out. I have a paper driving licence and dont carry my passport. Looks like I'm going to have to fork out for a photo licence grrrrrr0

Maybe they think your using it to make blackpowder which your then using to make bullets to go in to the guns your manufacturing in your shed.0

What do you mean by "instant lighting"? Does it mean, in effect, you don't need firelighters? And so would it be restricted in the same way as firelighters would be?
In which case I can imagine them being age-restricted.
In which case the problems are that (a) they thought you were younger than you are and (b) they take down your details.
(a) I know it's not particularly helpful, but I'd be well chuffed if this happened to me...
(b) If this is illegal then sue them!0 -

My choice I believe. But thanks for the input.0
