This made me think of George W Bush!!

The dog I want is a Labrodor and I was going to try and train it properly.
Try? Properly? Either you are going to train it or not. Trying doesn't come into the equasion & i am a little concerned at the 'Properly' bit too. Shouldn't ALL dog training be done 'properly'? Have you really thought this through? If you had then i doubt you would be using the above terms because you would do, not try to do.
!!!!!! the girl's asked a question about her rental terms and a legitmate request to change them. Plenty of people with depression have jobs, pets and even children. She's being ripped apart and her ability to do anything questioned, minor typos, sentences out of context, passing comments all extracted to scrutinise her every ability and motive. If she was a council/HA tenant with decent tenure or an owner occupier none of this would even have arisen. She hasn't sneaked a dog in, or been underhand, she formally requested something most people with social tenure or who own a house can do anyway - people have offered factors to consider and she's been very polite in return. REally haven't people got anything better to do like beat up on some kiddy-fiddlers or puppy-kickers.....0 -
hi hayley as you know i am both a landlord (live in) and come from a family of lab owners.
when my lab stayed with us she decided she was going to shed more hair than i thought any dog could, maybe your landlord is afraid that a dog could ruin the carpets?
btw i told my lodger i wont have cats in the house  i was worst landlord in the world for thatthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

LOL I take it that was Irony? I saw no grammatical errors in what she said. Since YOU are being picky i'll explain it a little clearer for you. The point i made is that there is no 'Try' about it. You either train a dog properly or you don't, end of. Do you not think her LL might have reservations when she duly informs him that she is going to 'try' to train the dog properly? I too would find those terms concerning if i were her LL. I'd much prefer my tenant didn't just 'Try' to train thier dog (that i already told them i didn't want in the house) not to damage my property, much rather that they DID train it not to do so.
Is that better Miss Picky? :rotfl:
Mr Pot?
sorry couldnt resist lolVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -

Our future tenants (when we finally move!) will have the pleasure of living 10 minutes walk away from this:0 -

Intentions are irrelevant. Many people have wonderful intentions, but training a labrador is NOT easy and good intentions alone will not let you succeed. Owning a dog is a serious responsibility; training it is even more.
The OP doesn't sound fully prepared to do this. If she has done her research and is ready to do it (remember, it's a commitment for 10-15 years, not just two years) then I'm very glad and she will enjoy the pleasure of working her dog. But from the words she uses, she gives the impression that she has not.0 -

:rotfl: Oh please do keep up. Somebody has already picked apart that post. It wasn't interesting then. It isn't interesting now.
It does make me laugh, you read that post yet you didn't read the one explaining exactly what I meant by that? I've no interest in people who cannot be bothered getting the full picture.
Can I please say to everybody who has wondered if I can look after a dog or not. I didn't start this thread to debate that and there is no way in the world anybody can judge whether a person is fit to take care of a dog from a thread like this.
I am not a child, I didn't just wake up one morning and decide I wanted a cute little puppy. I am an adult, who wanted a pet, to keep for life. Like 100's of people do every day. So can you all please get off your soap boxes for a minute? All these posts repeating the same thing are getting very dull now. Think happy & you'll be happy

Thanks to those that have stuck up for me, I didn't think i'd actually need people to stick up for me when I was simply asking for people's opinions on LL's allowing pets or not. Think happy & you'll be happy
