Hiya,
My first time on the site, good stuff I’m all joined up, and hope that I can contribute and help out.
I’m looking for some advice regarding my mobile contract with Orange.
I have been with orange for several years without incident, but recently I have seen a steep increase in my bills. I have two phones on my contract, one of which I have for my mom, as she has been using all her minutes plus extra I attempted to put her up a tariff to more minutes. It turns out that they put the minutes up and disabled her unlimited texts, so I was getting billed for rather a lot of texts.
I contacted Orange and they admitted the problem and sorted it out, I requested a bill recalculation and they all but agreed…….. fine…. sorted?
Anyway after some further dealing with them……. Very long story! I began to believe that there was something fishy going on, after a few “chats” about my original contract I decided to request that a copy of my original contract is sent out to me, one with my signature on it.
After some messing around I got it in the post.
The contract states that I have two Nokia Ngage hand sets on dolphin…… both on 18 months contracts.
Needless to say I don’t have Nokia Ngage handsets I have two LG Secret hand sets one on an 18 month contract and one on a 12 month contract, I have called and confirmed this with orange.
The LG secret handsets are rubbish I have had them replaced several times each, I have attempted to change the handsets to something that actually works, and have been told that these are the phones that are on my contract and I can only have them replaced. "in fact Sir, they could break every month, and we would simply replace them every month....... as this is your contract"
Unfortunately I am unable to find my original contracts from the day I got the phones (I am still looking), I believe that if I find them, I will find that they are completely different to the ones that have been sent out to me!
Anyway.
I have two LG secret phones on dolphin one on 12 month contract one on 18 month contract.
The contract I have been sent by orange states that I have two Nokia Ngage phones on 18 months contracts.
Is there anyone out there that is able to help me out please and tell me where I stand, is the contract void? If I am able to find my original copy of the contract and they are different to the ones they have sent me out, is this fraud?
I’m not sure, all I know is that I cannot trust them, and wont rid of them.
Advice would be much appreciated, and I would be sincerely grateful.
Regards
Daniel

I started a thread re this
If you go over your inclusive minutes you will now be charged 14.7p/m as opposed to what I believe was 4.7p/m.
Quite the charge if you ask me. They've breached the terms of their own contract and your legally entitled to cancel it today. You get to keep the phone but you lose your number and it doesn't affect your credit.
Contact them on 07973 100 150 and get put straight through to disconnections....Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
Did you set the contracts up with Orange directly or through a dealer (p4u, cpw, etc).
If it was a dealer they may have entered the info incorrectly on the system, in which case your issue is with the them as Orange will only know what they get told.
If you got them through Orange direct, I don't know. I 'think' the handset isn't part of your contract. . .0 -
Hiya
I have read the thread on the change in data/call charges and have included it in my latest email to the Exec office.
thanks alot.
In answer to the second question, i set up the accounts in and Orange Retail shop in Birmingham,
I have confirmed with custoemr Services that i have two LG Secret Handsets on 12 and 18 months.
The contract, or the one they have sent me claiming to be mine.... states that i have two Nokia Ngage hand sets both on 18 month contracts?
Thank you0
