First Neg Received - What Should I Do
Comments

Firstly, you need to send the emails, with headers, on to eBay. They "may" consider this as abuse of the system, and remove the neg/restrict the buyer. More details on these pages - http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/feedback-withdrawal-removal.html and http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/report_problem.html
Keep all emails on the matter - although not enough to defend a paypal INR claim, they would stand up well if you were to take Small Claims action against her.
Secondly, it never ceases to amaze me that buyers still try to call the shots on things like delivery.
I'm listing a few old desktop PC units and furniture from an office I've cleared out - low value stuff, but big and bulky, and listed as collection only. So why have 4 separate people taken it upon themselves to tell me how much a courier would cost? Does the courier pack the goods as well? will they turn up in the evening when I'm home from work, or at weekends? I think not.
The tail does not wag the dog.
Sadly this is an occupational hazard of dealing on eBay, or even just dealing with anything on the internet. The world is full of weirdos, freaks, obessesives and idiots - the law of averages suggests that it's only a matter of time before you encounter one. Remain calm, and do not stoop to their level. The problem with arguing with these imbeciles is that they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
The follow-up by Pinkshoes sounds good - use that, then look at the feedback removal/abuse options.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
I've replied to the feedback received. Said "Suggest you read all my positive feedback, maybe I was not the problem here"
Do you think that is too strong? .
I don't think it's too strong, I think it's far too vague, almost petty.
It's best to just stick to the facts.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
have you not used ebay much in this time cause i only joined last year and after 3 negs my feedback is still over 95%Recently listed a puppy pen as a local pick up only. Received a couple of emails during listing asking if I would reconsider posting item. Told them both that no as item is big and bulky and I no longer had packaging. Item sold to a bidder with (0) feedback from Berkshire (I'm in Scotland). She emailed me and said she had a friend locally who would pick it up. I gave her my address details and she said she would organise it. She later got in touch with me to ask when she should book the courier! She needed it asap as she had a puppy with nowhere to put her. I told her I would arrange to be at home on Friday morning if she arranged the courier for an a.m. slot. This she did but courier did not arrive until p.m. and then told me that buyer had booked incorrectly as had said she had postal label when she didn't and so he couldn,t take item. Sent email to that effect to buyer and she was not amused.
She said she would rearrange the courier and I sent email to say wasn't happy as item was sold as local pick up only and this would mean another day for me to wait on courier but to let me know when it was rearranged. She then emailed to say her friend would pick up which he did but as soon as he had she sent a really nasty email rambling on about how I was the devil and a nightmare to deal with and was the most unhelpful person she had ever dealt with on Ebay and if I was looking for feedback I could forget it. She has now of course left neg. feedback and I am so angry!
I have 100% rating since 2004 and this has taken me to 87.5%. Don't know what to do next. I could leave neg feedback for her but assume she will simply close account and reopen a new one which I assume she has done before as said she has been dealing on ebay for years.
Should I just put it down to bad experience and move on, what would you do.
Sorry for rambling:omortui non mordent0 -
I am led to believe there is no way PP would consider an INR claim for a pickup only item, so don't worry about that. I would have used a more factual response to the feedback, so that future potential buyers of your items know the facts. I doubt one neg given those circs would put anyone off.
I too had a similar experience with idiots asking me to change my listing re collection only. Selling my ex's Xbox, quite heavyt with all the leads and controllers in a big box, so put it as collection only, only to receive 4 emails from the same guy to ask about posting it along the lines of "im not being funny but if you don't offer postage as an option you wont get as much for it", and "i'd prefer to pay the tener postage than the petrol". in the end he seemed like so much hassle i blocked him, after replying that i listed the item as collect only to avoid annoying timewasters like him! a little harsh perhaps, but i had decided i would rather jjust get rid of it!!0 -
Paypal will consider an INR on any ebay item and this is of course the main issue with paypal being forced on all auctions. If you take it you run the risk of the classic paypal scam, if you refuse to take paypal then you run the risk of an account warning and a possible suspension.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You've been led up the garden path with that information - there are a number of threads on here where people have lost out on high value items through this scam/loophole.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
As others have said i'm afraid this is wrong. If you cant prove delivery you are open to an INR claimpiratefairy wrote: »I am led to believe there is no way PP would consider an INR claim for a pickup only0 -
i had a feedback rating of 61 (100%) but only 8 in the last year (including this neg). I only use ebay to clear the garage occasionally or if the kids have things to sell. They only use the past year so that is why it dropped so much0
