Went into Phones4U shop on Sunday 19th July. Sat down and went through the process of ordering etc but when the chap scanned the phone it came up on the screen saying that phone wasn't available on the tarriff selected. Said not to worry, just cancel the transaction and I'll go home and order on the P4U website instead as the deal I wanted was on there. Transaction cancelled and off I went home.
Less than an hour after being in the shop I ordered on the internet. The mobile arrived on the Tuesday. Read the letter telling me activation would be within 48 hours. Nothing happened so called the provider on Thursday and they told me I didn't exist????. Called P4U but their system was down. It's now Monday and I'm still not activated. Can't get through to P4U. There's still no sign of a DD set up on my bank account. It's not a major problem as the phone came unlocked and I'm still able to use my o2 sim so I'm not without a service.
As I apparently don't exist and the DD has not been set up (even though I have the DD paperwork with all the details with my printed signature), what's the chances of P4U having cancelled the transaction instore and taking my online tranaction with it as all the details would have been exactly the same?
I'm happy to pay £30 for 18 months, that's not an issue but if I'm able to get a new mobile with no contract for nothing then why not?

Not great. It is usual for the company to wait to activate once they have received delivery confirmation. Until it's activated they wouldn't be able to find it on their system. They will send you an email when it is activated.0
