Mince it up and make a cottage pie.

Just mince meat, then mince in cooked carrots, onions and mix with gravy and top with mash potato.Cook in the oven for 30 minutes.

If i have meat left over i usually make a curry or a cassorole with the left overs with loads of veg added, i do it in the oven on the lowest temp possible for about 7-8 hours and the meat really comes out tender.

  • I turned a rather tough joint of pork into 2 lovely curries.

Spent £8 on a beef joint today and cooked it exactly as per instructions but it is so tough it was almost inedible.

There is a lot left ... any suggestions about what I can with it please?

I'd slice it and layer it in a casserole dish add some gravy and then braise for an hour or so... it'll be delice with veg and potatoes...

  • Slice it and reheat it in some gravy for 40 minutes or so and it'll be fine.

I'd mince it - or finely chop either by hand or in food processor - and make a proper cottage pie. It's a pain in the neck but really delicious; definitely better than made from raw beef.
