Free mobile calls when abroad (or home).
I have only just joined this forum so if this has been posted already I apologise.
If you buy a mobile that can download 'Skype' (go to Skype's site to view list) and has 'WiFi' (for example the Sony Ericsson C905). When abroad just connect to any 'open' WiFi network (loads about) and call UK home phones for 2p per minute.
If your UK relative (or any relative..... anywhere in the world) has a 'Skype' home phone the calls are totally FREE!
Most people think that a Skype home phone means having your computer switched on and being sat beside it with a headset on ... not so, modern wireless 'Skype' phones sit on the kitchen counter and ring just like a normal phone (your computer can be switched off ..... it connects via your wireless router).
Beware some mobile networks won't let you use 'Skype', I am with '3' and (in my opinion) they are great.
I have just spent a week in the Canary Islands and my 'Skype' credit went down about £0.90!! (lots of calls to UK).

Got it on my Iphone, but I have not had the chance to test it yet...although I think people still believe you need a camera etc to use skype0
