Hi guys, I've posted a few times re monitors n stuff & basically I still haven't got to the bottom of it, just wondered if anyone could possibly shed some light. In a nutshell I've purchased a new Radeon 9250 Graphics Card so that I can use my PC on a Digimate TV I have bought (DVI Compatible only) I am now able to see the display on my tv, but the graphics are terrible. As soon as I crank up the PC I am shown a 'bubble' which says my graphics are set too low & to click on it if I want to resolve this, when I click on it nothing happens. I have tried to sort it out a bit myself & seem to have a Code 12 error (something about not having enough space although it doesn't mention what type of space though !!!) Re system requirements, I have the appropriate processor but it doesn't mention about the memory required (I only have 256)
Any ideas anyone, 'coz I'm stumped & at the end of my tether !!
Cheers in advance,
Paul

Hi
What did you have before you installed the new graphics card, did you have onboard graphics? if you did, have you disabled them in your BIOS.
Have you updated the drivers for your new card? if you haven't go to manufacturers webiste and download and install the drivers.
If its a ATI Radeon, go here https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27
Hope this helps0 -
I tried connecting my computer to a tv once... what method are you using for connection? S-Video? composite? etc..
Reason i ask is, i cant remember which method i used, but the quality was DIRE.. so i never did it again.. i bought a second 19" tft monitor instead and it works wonderfuly[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Hi guys & thanks for your replies. I'm still struggling to sort this out & have dropped ATI a line. However I just thought I'd mention that when I try to alter my display settings I am stuck on 4 bit for colour & 640 x 480 for the monitor display - I know this could be a driver problem but I have done my best to make sure I have the latest driver ............ any other ideas ????
Cheers again,

Hi
I don't believe your pc is seeing your new card, not with that colour or resolution, have you disabled any onboard graphics?,
Right click on an empty space on your monitor, select Properities, Settings, under Display what graphics card is showing?0 -
Hi there & thanks for getting back. I did as you mentioned & it just has "(Default Monitor) on" does that suggest anything ??

Hi
Yes, it should also show your graphics card, when you installed your new graphics card and rebooted did the "found new hardware" icon pop up, if not, check that your graphics card is seated properly.
If you installed the driver for your radeon, go to Properities, Settings, and click on Advanced and then you should see all your setting for your graphics card, ie Direct3d, Open GL, Troubleshooting0 -
Hi again & I think I may know what my problem is (apart from me being a bit thick !!)
I have not had & therefore downloaded a driver for my tv / monitor !! It is a digimate one & I was not provided with one & I have also searched the web hi & lo and still not been able to find one !! I think the next stage is for me to get on to digimate & enquire (I have tried there website but cannot find any monitor drivers there either). Out of interest I also have no little icon for monitor under device manager, I s'pose that would be right if I have not downloaded a drive & hence it showing 'default monitor').
ANyway, if you have any ideas I may be able to try then that would be much appreciated, else I shall let you know how I get on with digimate (I did ctually leave a message regarding this problem when I first encountered it & they did not reply, hopefully better luck this time.)
Cheers again,

Hi
Just out of curiousity, In device manager, whats showing for Display adapter? I wouldn't have thought it was your monitor that was the problem, but you never know, they're usually just plug and play.0 -
HI there & thanks for your continued help !! Under Display adaptors it has my graphics card (radeon 9250) with an exclamation mark - when I then look further the ! is obviously due to the code 12 thing again & under resources it says about me not having enough free sapce & for me to disable something to free up space. I did have a little play at disabling some stuff :-/ (Floppy disc drive) but didn't make any difference ............
Cheers again,

Hi
Its definately a graphics card problem, although I don't know what it means by not enought resources or free space, unless the graphics card is using mem from your pc, how much mem have you got in your pc? sorry I don't know what this error means.
Have you been on the ati website and had a look at troubleshooting, or their knowledge base to see if they can help.0
