A point though is to get propper widescreen on it you are still left with black bars top and bottom due to the screen resolution. It's not a major issue, and you do have the full screen option if you really don't like the bars, meaning everything is a little taller.
Do you mean for 16:9 tv broadcasts, or 21:9 DVDs?
Is there a 'zoom' option to fill the height of the screen by chopping off a bit of either side?.0

They are now showing the 23PF9946 (I assume this is the next model up)
It's priced at £648.01. The dealtime cheapest is £700. It's a bit to rich for me so I'll be missing out I think.
For anyone who's interested the link is:

Are you watching via digital?I bought the 17" version of this TV earlier in the year for about £580 (RRP £799), in fact I'm watching it now. It's a great set, and looks even better on the wall. A point though is to get propper widescreen on it you are still left with black bars top and bottom due to the screen resolution.
The only way to get proper widescreen pictures is to view via digital. (Freeview, Sky, Cable etc).0

Zoom options are 4:3, zoom 14:9, zoom 16:9, subtitle zoom, superwide (makes a 14:9 broadcast fill the screen), widescreen (adds black bars top and bottom to mantain the picture ratios), fullscreen (fills the screen completely, but makes things a little taller). The widescreen option certalinly looks best to me on anamorphic feeds.0

I haven't heard anything yet, however, given that the last 4 days have been holidays for most people I think we'll probably hear from them tomorrow at the earliest and January 4th at the latest - when the holdays will have finished officially.0
