sky plus box far too costly!

ive been quoted £169 for this, tried to persuade sky to let me have it cheaper, but to no avail!

Been with sky for a long time, happy with it but would be even happier if i can get a good deal for a sky plus box

any ideas anyone?

I'd leave Sky as 20 minutes ago they wanted £159, now it's £169. By tomorrow it will be over £200

You do not need a "different" cable to make it work, although you will not get it's full features without fitting a new LNB that has at least two outputs and running a second feed to the box.

I just called to cancel (as no time to watch it) and they offered me the box for £44 which is apparently the lowest they can go (though I have seen people on here get it for free). If I was trying to blag a deal on the box, I would have gone for it, but I did actually want to cancel. My 6 year will not be amused that sky will break in a months time

It's highly annoying that new customers get the Sky+ box for free but customers who've been with them for years can't even get a cheap one.

We've just ordered then promptly cancelled Sky and i'm going to hold their Sky+ box to ransom until they put something in writing saying i'll get my £55 set up fee back.
