N.Power swapping from online 14 to 16?
Hi, I have just swapped from online 14 to 16.
I have been on online 14 since March.
Re:This 'discount' they apply for monthly direct debit.
It says you will get it after 12 months and there should be 'no break'. Does this break JUST mean the direct debit bit? Or does it apply to rate tarts like myself, who jump to the 'cheapest' deal on offer from N.Power?

I haven't read the T&Cs but I suspect you lose the discount, doesn't work out so cheap if you take it into consideration.0

I have changed my npower tariff in the past and kept the discounts. They seem to base it on your joing date not the change of tariff date.0

I'd also be interested in knowing the answer to the OP's question. We've been with npower on SO14 for about 2-3 months but SO16 would save around £25/year.0

Their website seems to make it seem that the discount is a year from joining date, as long as you pay by direct debit, regardless of whether you change tariff:*After you’ve been with npower and paid by monthly Direct Debit without a break for 12 months, you’ll receive a discount off your energy bill. Stay with us and continue to pay in this way and you’ll get a £100 annual discount if you buy both electricity and gas, or £20 if you buy just one fuel. Our new, higher discount applies from 01/09/08. Existing customers who are already eligible to receive our old £80 discount for paying for both electricity and gas by monthly Direct Debit will receive an apportioned higher discount payment according to their discount anniversary as follows. Date of discount payment anniversary September - November 2008 £85 discount received, December 2008 - February 2009 £90 discount received, March - May 2009 £95 discount received, June 2009 onwards £100 discount received.0

I have seen that glider and its the 'without a break for 12 month' that could be open for interpretation. Does it just mean for direct debits OR have I now reset that 12 month period because I have changed tariffs?
I have e-mailed N.Power about this and will let you know the response (if I get one)0 -
i hvae been with n power for several years now and I change tariffs, now on the online tariff, but as long as you stay woith them and on dd you get the £100 discount It shows on your statment on your 12mth anniversary date as a credit.0

Got this response:
Thank you for your email.
Your new Tariff, Sign Online 16 will not alter the date of your Dual Fuel discount in anyway. As long as you are paying on a monthly Direct Debit, it does not matter what unit rates you are on, it will still be given to yourselves as it is something you are entitled to as an npower customer.
Your anniversary date is the 8th March so any statement after that point will have that discount on it. It will be halved between the fuels.
Should the account be brought into a credit of over £60.00 we automatically refund unless advised otherwise, anything below that can be refunded but is recommended to be forwarded to the next account.
Please check your next statement due the 25th August 2009 for the discount, shoulld it not appear please let us know as soon as possible and we will reissue this for you.
The freephone number for any queries is, 0800 551555 and we are open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 6pm Saturdays.
I hope the above is helpful.
Kind regards
