You still have not answered the question, why are you claiming JSA if you are not looking for work in the next couple of months?

You didnt give me a chance!

I've had to claim JSA while I'm unable to work for the next couple of months,
So I will be actively seeking work while I'm on JSA until I can go back to my other job. No fraud here!
I'm self employed unable to work for the next couple of months due to personal reasons.

It is not what you said in your op or on your other thread which I have quoted!!

I am not going to argue with you, but you are not seeking job when you are going back to your old job.

Thanks dmg - I know I'm going to have to pay the majority, I'm just hoping they could help with a couple of hundred per month. I cant work right now due to personal reasons.

That is what I said in my other post. The whole subject was based around my self employed job. Not seeking work through JSA - I didnt even claim JSA at that point.

I've had to claim JSA while I'm unable to work for the next couple of months, the lady who was dealing with my claim suggested calling for a crisis loan while I wait for my benefit.

I was under the impression that it was a same day decision, so do they send someone out to check if your cooker isnt working and to see bank documents? How does it work?
Your op, it clearly states it in there!

In the immediate period after a claim has been made a Crisis Loan can be made under 'Alignment to Benefit' - at least that is how it used to work where I used to work.

The purpose of the loan is to help people with immediate risk - i.e starvation due to having zero income to buy food or having no money to pay gas and electric. The lady at the jobcentre wouldnt have told me to call for a crisis loan if I was 100% unable to get one.

You can get one as an alignment to benefit however if a benefit payment is due you will not get one, as this is not their purpose. The "lady at the jobcentre" won't be trained in the administration of Crisis Loans. She cannot say whether or not you will get one, anymore than she can say whether or not you can get anything else. They can refer you but they ultimately are not making the decision on your claim.

If your payment of benefit is due but you have not received it and you apply, the Crisis Loan DM will contact the benefit processing team to enquire why you have not had your payment and will ask for it to be released to you, via a counter payment if necessary.

I dont have a payment due yet - apparently I missed it (I called about JSA and was at the office having an interview within an hour) which is why she suggested a crisis loan. Yeah maybe she's not trained in the admin of crisis loans - I didnt say she was. I said she wouldnt have told me about the crisis loan if I was 100% unable to get one.

Alot of you guys seem to really dislike anyone who claims anything. I've been made to feel like I'm committing a crime by asking a question. I've never claimed anything in my entire life. I've worked full time since I left college. I'm not the scum of the earth.
