Is it safe to post?

I sold a item for £155, buyer didnt do an offer just bought it and paid immediately. On paypal there is no address to send to and it says seller protection inelligble.

Is it safe to post

I emailed the seller who emailed me their address and said they wasnt sure why paypal had no address

You've answered your own question- if there's no address then seller protection is ineligible so it is not safe to post.

You need to email the buyer and tell them that they need to have their address added to Paypal. The help section should tell them how to do this.

  • I think if they paid before they added the address it won't show on the payment. I would tell them that the first payment will be refunded then they can pay again and hopefully the new payment will have the address in it so you'll have the seller protection. I wouldn't send it without the protection, as it's a high priced item.

I cant refund the item as paypal have restricted my account! It also says I cant withdraw funds so even if I did receive payment again I cant withdraw it!

Im not sure it doesnt say why and when I rang they said I need to follow the steps in my account but all it says is they periodically review paypal accounts and have restricted mine and in the meanwhile I cant send, withdraw or request payments

You can't trust the ebay address. You must send to the PP address - the fact that there isn't one sets off lots of alarm bells.

PP themselves are telling you that you have no seller protection.

There's no way I'd be posting such an expensive item under these circumstances.

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
