I used yo use BT pay as you go dial up
I now have broadband with another company
I want to keep my bt email accounts but to make sure i do i have to dial up the old way occassionly
where can i down load the software for this(i can not reregister with bt as a different account would give me a differ ent email address.)
I have tried not using the broadband lead and modem and using the old dial up lead but i need the dial up connection on the computer.(the computer is brand new so does not have it on like the old one did.
Any help is much appreciated.

Try logging in to the BT webmail (using your old log in and p'word details), then forward your mails to your new e-mail address.

You need to create a new dial up connection, using the wizard (give it a different name of your choice) to make use your dial up modem (you have got a 56k modem?) using the info given in post #2. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Hi
You don't need your old dial up connection to receive your emails from BT, you just set up your old BT email account in Outlook Express, alongside your new one and it will send and receive from there.
No you don't have to use their dial up to get into your account, sending and receiving emails has nothing to do with how you connect to receive them, all it takes it for you to enter the right username/password and you can collect from any computer, anywhere.
POP Account = yourname@btworld.com (your old bt account) (this is to receive emails)
SMTP = yourname@newaccount (your new email account) (this is to send emails)
If you set it up like above, you should be able to get your emails using your broadband.
Hope this helps.0 -

Hi
As long as you set up your email account ie username/password and pop and smtp onto the other computer then, yes you can access your account from there.
Hope this helps0 -
it looks for a dial up connection, I almost lost mine even though I access it via BTBroadband
5p every 3 months was worth it in my mind (they now allow you to connect your btinternet email address to your broadband account so it's no longer a problem)

Why not just email all your contacts your new email address or have the same first part of the email address eg johnsmith@btinternet.com johnsmith@newisp.com0
