Thanks Sho. what I need from a phone is internet access (on top of normal mobile functions) and I am confused! what do I need to look for if I want internet access whereever I am i.e not needing to be in a wifi area?

the omina II (I8000) wile likely be the geeks choice as its the most complete phone out there at the moment, its relased in asia and will be here shortly.

the spec lowdown is as follows

    800x480 res amoled screen
    800mhz procesor
5mp camera with hi def video record
8-16gig memory with sd support for another 32gig
    standard speaker & charging options

its very nice and hardware wise superior to the iphone, just the os may disapoint some. frankly i am very tempted but the sony x3 due this year with a 1ghz snapdragon and android is even more tempting.

Apps seems to be the USP for the iphone.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

The Iphone is still in a different league IMO and the apps will keep you busy for ages ....there are loads of them, which range from very usefully to absolutely sh1te, but fun none the less...

Yep, as another user said, check out HTC, specifically, the HERO, which I have been waiting aaaaages for and have just ordered! I've been so excited about this phone, it's on Android, which means there should be loads more fun apps available soon, there are already a fair few but not a massive amount as compared to Apple.
The Hero is being touted as the iphone equivalent in a lot of ways (it's actually much better in some respects) but some reviews have said the speed isn't anywhere near as fast. I'll reserve judgement til I use it, but seeing as I'm getting this teflon-coated beauty FREE on a 12 month contract, I have little to complain about at the mo :j

    Hope this helps..
