Contracts up

Hiya,

Just wondered if I could get some advice before I attempt to ring my mobile provider.

anyway, My 18 month contract is up at the end of August, I have been a light user, never using up all of my free voice mins or texts. Been with THREE now for 36 months.

I am with three on an 18 month Package £30 a month 3000 Texts and 300 mins anytime calls.

I have just found a Great deal with Orange,18 month £25 a month 3000 Texts and 400 voice mins and there giving away a free WII with this deal.

Now with budget being tight, and I'm afraid the free WII has swung it for me ( as I could put this away as a christmas pressie for my son)

Anyway all I'd get is a standard free upgrade with THREE, do you think they'd negotiate with me, to keep me as a customer.

I'm not interested in more texts or free voice mins, as I hardly use the ones I use now up.

But I really want the WII ( although THREE don't give away free gifts as far as I'm aware)
But I was happy with THREE service and would continue to stick with them if they could possibly match this offer.

Anyway thought I'd ask here, so that I'd be better informed when I try to negotiate with them.

Hmm i dont know if 3 do free stuffs. Ring them up give your 30days notice and request. See what they offer you. And check around on the net if you can see better deals.

As you say, you're a light user. Do you realy need 3000 txt and 400mins?
Have you taken into considiration that something with abit lower usage may able to save some money?

Have you checked out the simplicity deals? For £20 a month you get 600mins, 1200 text and a choice of Bolt On, thats if you sign up online if it's in store the only diffrence is you get 500txt. And it's a 1 month Rolling contract. So you're not tied onto a 12/18month contract.

I understand what your saying, but even though I rarely use up all my free mins/ texts. Its nice knowing that they are there if I need them. some months I use my phone more then other months.
I have had a reduced package before 100 mins and 1000 texts, and found myself going over this every month and having to pay alot more.

As I said the WII has swung it for me, unless THREE can match this then I'l be saying fairwell to them.

Gonna ring them when they open at 10 am, I'l keep you posted

well after a long and lengthy phone call to a sales advisor that couldnt speak proper english ( Damn the foreign call centres)

They negeotiated with me and tried to do there best to match it.
They offered me a 12 month contract at £25 a month with the same mins and text allowance as before. And a £200 comet voucher ( for me to be able to buy the nintendo wii)
But.............

The phone wasn't a touch screen. It was just a bog standard sony erikson.
Where as Orange are offering me a samsung touch screen.

So I refused he's offer, and said I'l go with Orange.
As he said he couldn't offer me a touch screen phone with the £200 comet voucher.

so THREE have now lost me as a customer as I sign up now with orange.
I think I'l leave it till tomorrow, as they may call back with a better deal ( heres hoping)

Just goes to show they can offer you deals that you would never of known about had you not of asked.

For 2 consequative contracts with Three they haven't offered me anything other then a new handset. Just goes to show they do have Comet vouchers at there disposal.
