You cannot afford that, you spend enough on groceries each month to make them pack ups.

Debt busting isn't easy and takes effort, you must look at your SOA and the comments I have made, others will post in the morning and I am almost certain they will say similar things about your SOA.

Please list your total debt, without it, we don't have the full picture of your financial status and therefore we could be making the wrong comments to you.

I would love to cut the food budget by £100 if there is someone out there that can tell me how to do it...please say! My eldest son (he's 16) is still wearing last years clothes as i can't afford to buy him the clothes that he would like...I always buy my clothes in sales at the supermarkets.!I really scrimp and save as much as i can!

Meal plan is the answer, take a look at the Old Style board for tips, make a shopping list and stick to it, they are not bargains if you don't need them, and as for your 16 year old, can he not take a paper round or get a weekend job in order to buy himself some clothing?

washer...you have no idea what my family is like....I buy stuff for pack up, and they eat it all within a night. They help themselves when I am not looking. I buy stuff, and i look in the cupboard and it is there...I go to get it and the box is empty!....

But I do know what children are like, I have two myself. I'm not having a pop at you, we don't do that on the DFW board, I'm trying to help you see you can afford to repay the provident debt each month in full if you take a few of the suggestions I have made.

My suggestion for the pack up is get a plastic bag, pop 10 packets of crisps in, 10 biscuits and 10 of what ever else they take for lunch, tie a knot in it and store it up high so they cannot touch it. You should tell them once they have eaten the treats you have bought on your weekly shopping trip, there is no more until the next weekly shopping trip.

I cook everything fresh, we have turned our garden into an allotment, so we have carrots, beans, potatoes etc. We buy eggs from the local farmer and will continue to do so
