at the end of my tether

My husband works full time, and I am at present time unemployed ( I start as a student nurse in September). We are up to our eyes in debt, and i really can't see a way out. It has got to the point where I hate my kids coming home with letters just in case they are asking for money for school trips. I hate saying no to them, but we just cannot afford them. I am hoping that someone out there can make sense of my budget and tell me where I am going wrong...and hopefully save me a few pounds. Just an after thought...I have not included any trips that my children want to go on with their associated clubs and stuff.I have also not included pet food ( 1 dog, 2 cats 1 budgie, numerous tropical fish)£10 a week
Sorry, i didn't know how to place my Statement of affairs up,....any questions, please ask.

Welcome to the DFW board. I am certainly not the best person in the world to be commenting on your SOA, but I wanted you to know that someone is reading your thread, and at this time of the morning, things can seem much worse than they actually are.
I have added some comments in above, what are your actual debts, do you really pay the Provident £400 per month?
WASHER0 -
yup, I should be paying provident £400 a month, but I have been paying £250 a month as I cannot afford repayments0
-
ok, can you tell me the outstanding debt in total for all.0
-
The total provident debt?0
-
all your debts, list each one of them.0
-
I can see at least £260 of savings in your SOA without really starting to pull it apart, you can reduce haircuts to £20 per month, saving £30, mobile phone £40, sky tv £40, reduce food by £100 and reduce clothing to £20 per month.
You should just break even and with careful planning you should be able to reduce your food bill easily to £300 per month, giving you £100 per month to "live on" so to speak (for dog food/childrens activities etc).0 -
The gas is an approximate over the whole year...at the moment I put approximately £10 per week in the meter, in winter, i put up to £30 a week in...although, if we have no money, the sleeping bags come out!0

Keep your chin up. I too am up worrying myself to death, but this site has at least shown me I'm not alone and other people have come through the other side.
If I find anything I may feel useful to you I will post it.
Sorry - not much help - but thought like me you need encouragement to know it can be sorted.:hello:Debt at LBM £60k (July 09) Jan14 £5k Feb14 £4615
Mar14 £4379 End Mar 14 £4035 :T

Hettiecarro, debts are not worth worrying your self to death over, what you haven't got they can't take, post your SOA on another thread and the DFW posters will help you.
If you need to read something now, take a look at the CCCS website, its a debt charity, some very useful information.

I would love to cut the food budget by £100 if there is someone out there that can tell me how to do it...please say! My eldest son (he's 16) is still wearing last years clothes as i can't afford to buy him the clothes that he would like...I always buy my clothes in sales at the supermarkets.!I really scrimp and save as much as i can!0
