Monitor Speakers - no sound

What is the make and model of your monitor? Did the speakers come with the monitor ( I have a Dell monitor and bought the speakers seperately)
Are the speakers receiving any power? Maybe you need to enable the speakers through some sort of menu on you monitor? Lots of suggestions there. When you said you used your headphones since you bought it - did you mean you've had the headphones connected to the monitor or to the back of the computer?
Edit: If you connect the headphones again do you get any sound?

Hi
Go to Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, Volume and here click on Speaker Settings Advanced, Speakers on this page look at the drop down menu for Speaker setup, and change here for monitor stereo speakers, or whatever you've got.
Hope this helps0
