SUCCESS "BUY IT NOW" with "Best Offer"

I auctioned an industrial heater unit, and put a starting price of £199 on it. A couple of days after starting the auction, I had a message from an engineer of the company that made it. He said I'd never sell it for £199, and he'd give me £45 for it, as he could use it for a "spares" unit. I ignored the message, thinking if it came to it I could reply after the auction. It sold for the £199. Ha Ha. Especially as I paid nowt for it.
BaffExclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
Should OF, would OF. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.0 -
I listed a matthew williamson handbag at £99.99 and got 2 offers of £90, 1 of £50 and one of £35. Accepted the £90 with the best feedback !Debt Free Jan 2010!(Be happy) the state of your life is nothing more than the state of your mind! X:j0

Wouldn't it be better if ebay allowed you to add a message to the offer? I had someone offer £1 for a 19.99 BIN item.
Makes you want to send them quick note saying along the lines of "would you mind awfully getting into the real world" (Or something similar to that wording)
Soo...
That bidder definately deserves the TSFE of the year award!!My broad mind and narrow waist are slowly swapping places!!0 -
I've sold a few times through Best Offer. Of course I've had silly offers that just get declined......but I agree with Trencherpilot that it would be better if we could email the potential buyers. Today I accepted a BO when I would have preferred asking for a slightly higher price, but had no way to communicate with the buyer as part of her ebay name was hidden from me. I think she might have paid a couple of quid more and still been happy. As it was I just wanted the sale.....
On another occasion I rejected an offer cos it was bit low but the bidder immediately paid full price for the product. So you just never can tell....so much depends on the product and how many idenitcal ones are about.Stop looking for answers....
The most you can hope for are clues.....:)0 -

Oh, so the offer ID is hidden? A bit sneakey, as you can not check their feedback to accept the offer. I would not accept an offer from a bad ebayer
Do not think i'll bother with the Best Offer Reading all the remarks it sounds like more AGG than it is worth.
Thanks everyone, going to list the lowest BIN that I will accept.0
