It is only three pence not thirty for exporting. The electricity company probably resells for five or ten.
The three pence is to discourage you from dumping the electricity in you swimming pool (Solar thermal is more sensible for pools) still worth dumping it in your hot water tank as long as you have a very small immersion heater that does not exceed the output of the panels.

What does CIS & CdTe stand for in terms of panel technology.

I want to buy the VHS version not the Betamax.

For a matter of interest what prevents you from producing the electricity you actually use from a Diesel generator and pumping everything from Photovoltaics out and claiming 30 odd pence per kW?

What prevents you from buying a barn in Cornwall and doing this?

I think he means feeding in the output of a generator to the input of the meter monitoring output of panels and claiming the FITs!!!!!

    A 6kWp system generating 24,000kWh a year!!

If we are going to commit fraud why bother with a diesel generator? Just feed in mains voltage and get a 300% profit!!

No I didn't realise it was only 3p for Export.

If you can only generate electricity internally for profit but can't export it at a profit, doesn't this encourage electrical energy waste at home?

Environmentally it would be far better to export PV electricity to reduce electricity from coal. However people will be paid more to reduce natural gas for heating your water tank instead. Seems crazy!
