Cash Machines Calas de Mallorca

Hi

We're going to Majorca on the 1st Aug and although AI will need to take some cash for trips etc. Are there cash machines in the resort?

I don't know whether to just change money before we go or draw it as we need it. I haven't got the Nationwide card only my normal HSBC card so I know I'll get charged. Do you still get charged if you draw sterling out of the bank over there?

There are 5 or 6 Cash Machines in Calas de Malorca. I have ben there more then 10 times.

I'm not sure how you expect to withdraw Sterling out of the bank over there...

Using your HSBC card to withdraw Euros will cost you about 5% over the wholesale exchange rate. That's cheaper than most high street money changers, including the Post Office's walk-in rates.

If possible, use your card to make purchases rather than withdraw cash, as this will only cost you 2.75%.

don't forget to order in Euro amounts not the sterling equivalent, you'll get a better exchange rate.:D

I got sterling out of the HSBC machine in Turkey but can't remember if I was charged for it.

You wouldn't know until you got your statement - and possibly not even then depending how much detail they give.
