Hello, everyone! There have been people asking after the thread, so thought I'd start it. Sadly, my plan is in my laptop, which is currently poorly, so I'll add it later
We're barbequeing tonight, and quiche and salad tomorrow. HM smaoked mackerell and horseradish pate, with HM granary bread and fruit for weekend lunches.
DD is off at Scout Jamboree this week, so DS and I will be having Freezer Roulette for lunches
DS has just iced a coffee cake he made, and there are HM shortbreads biscuits and choc chip cookies in the tin.
Penny. x

Right, i'm going to give this yet another try as really need to use what I have already, so!
Saturday - salmon with new potatoes
Sunday - might be going to my dad's for a BBQ (if so, will take a pasta salad or something). If not, i'll have a jacket potato with tuna and salad
Monday - lentil and stuffing burgers (keep meaning to try these) with salad
Tuesday - something with eggs, not sure what but just realised I have a lot
Wednesday - fish pie with mashed potato and veg

All I should need to buy this week is some milk, some veg (don't know what, i'll see what I can find in town) and maybe bread rolls for the lentil burgers as my homemade bread is never soft enough for that sort of thing! Oh, and possibly cheese. I'm going to print this now and make myself stick to it.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

One week till we go on holiday and the freezer is starting to look quite bare. Very proud of that - we went from 3 under-bench sized freezers to one when we moved here, and I've managed it without too much throwing out/giving away. Once we're back, the freezer will only hold essentials: bread, ice cubes, no more than two lots of meat, 1 lot of fish plus fish fingers, prawns, 1 lot veg sausages, minimal leftovers to be used within 2 weeks, essential frozen fruit and veg (peas, berries, chips). This week's plan will further reduce stocks.
Sat: sausages (from freezer), bread and butter, hm coleslaw, cherry tomatoes
Sun: roast chicken, stuffing, new potatoes, peas & carrots, gravy (stuffing balls for dd)
Mon: chicken, veg and leftover gravy pie (using puff pastry from freezer), new potatoes, runner beans (omelette for dd)
Tues: spicy rice with chicken and prawns, salad (non-chicken version for dd)
Wed: macaroni and cauliflower in cheese sauce, tomatoes
Thurs: spaghetti bolognese, salad (spaghetti with just cheese for dd, that's how she likes it anyway)
Fri: chilli, rice & corn chips, salad (frozen leek & cheese sausages for dd)
But I still haven't come up with anything to do with the rest of the broad beans, the cabbage or the beetroot. Does cooked beetroot freeze?Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000 -
