Switching from contract to PAYG
Good evening!
As part of my money saving drive, I've decided to switch from my contract (Vodafone) to PAYG (T-Mobile with Tesco). I've been with Vodafone for years and have no experience when it comes to porting an exisiting number.
I already have the PAYG sim-card and the user guide (& confirmed by customer services) states that I can port the number across in five days.
My Vodafone contract is up for renewal but I still have to give one month's notice to cancel.
Should I cancel the contract 3 weeks before porting the number across or should I make arrangements before-hand? I also read somewhere that porting usually takes four weeks so I'm a bit confused!

its a bit confusing i know but you need to ring vodafone to ask for your pac, which is a porting authorisation code, which you then give to tmobile if they are your new provider. you can do this anytime within 4 weeks of your contract end as you pay ur line rental one month in advance0
